When Lara was no to Blue…
She is smoothly gliding through the blue waters, flaunting her hot body in this Andrew D’Souza’s flick. But did you know initially this hottie was strictly against acting in this movie? Well, it is said that Lara Dutta was quite apprehensive to work in ‘Blue’, for her fear of water.
When Lara was approached by the producers for this underwater action film, her immediate answer was no. Being the most expensive film in the Hindi film industry, the producers were taken aback when she even refused to hear the script. They in turn asked Akshay Kumar’s help to convince her. Lara had severe hydrophobia and that is how Akki suggested her to take up swimming lessons.
Lara recounts that it was a sink or swim situation. However, she stepped into the movie with a brave heart. “I got a coach, who taught me to take the first lap in seven swimming sessions. Then for the next three months we just learnt how to swim and breathe underwater,” stated the actress to sources.
Hmm, now don’t see her swimming beautifully in the promos of ‘Blue’? Looks like Akki’s Fear Factor cajoling has helped here.

Producers of ‘3 Idiots’ are gearing up for hosting a series of concerts for promoting their film. Of course, all credit goes to Aamir Bhai for rendering such a creative appeal.
Film’s music director Shantanu Moitra and his playback singers will perform live on the songs across various cosmopolitan cities. The first concert would be held in Mumbai and later followed by Western, Central and Southern parts of India.

Kat’s fame makes director nervous
It is usually the actors who get jittery to work with famed filmmakers. Here it is vice versa.
Birdies revealed that director Rajkumar Santoshi was apprehensive to direct Katrina Kaif. The director brings two young vibrant actors, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif , in ‘Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’.
It is heard that the director was worrying about the actress’s fame overshadowing his failed attempts. And this made him to wear a low profile on the shooting sets. Talking over this, he had stated, “It becomes very difficult to work with an established star like Katrina. I would be very reluctant to ask Katrina for a retake.”
However, our Kat rubbished this in a light manner and said that the director has a good humour sense. She said, “We had a wonderful time working together on the sets. Hope nobody takes him seriously on that.”
Ohh.. On-screen khichayi??

Lagta hai nazar lagayi! The grapevines were buzzing with Bipasha Basu’s entry into Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Raavan’. Now it is said that the lady is nearly out of the Abhi-Aish starrer movie. Bips was roped in to play Raavan’s (Abhishek) wife Mandodari.
Sources have it that Mandodari’s character seemed using much space in the movie and more dominating than the other leading ladies, Aishwaraya and Priyamani, in the movie. Meanwhile, our Bips is really upset over the news and said, “I am sad... but it’s better than having my role chopped or totally edited... when lot of effort had gone to work out the role for this guest character.” However, the director’s publicist stated that he did not want to any injustice to her role and he would see that they both work together next time. Avantika Kapoor’s Controversial Entry in B-town
One more Kapoor babe has entered Bollywood and her name is Avantika Kapoor. Although she hails from non-filmy family, within the short span of her arrival she managed to get lucrative offers from prestigious banners. She shared the camera frame for Airtel with none other than Shahrukh Khan and she also featured in three video albums which were made for Apache Indian and Hard Kaur, Sandeep Batra of "Fame Gurukul" fame and the current chartbuster "Radheshyam" made by T Series. And now the doors of Bollywood are opened for her and noted director Faisal Saif has signed her for the main lead in his film "Mahi Mahi".

I know an old rivalry is going on between Shiyas and Sunnis all over the world and lot of blood is flown on the streets all over due to the traditional rivalry between these two sects. Saddam Hussain was Sunni and when he was captured and was taken to ropes, the world showed on TV as to how Shiyas expressed their happiness and celebrated this by dancing on the streets and firing their guns in the air. This shows how deep the rivalry is between these two sects. Till now no film is made on the romance of a Shiya-Sunni boy and girl. On one side I am excited about this film same way I am nervous as well."

A stitch in time saves Kat’s award night
The 'GQ Men of the year Awards 2009' was recently held. The ceremony had several celebrities, all dressed in their best, under one roof. The Bachchans, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif, Karan Johar, Lara Dutta, Malaika Arora Khan, Abhay Deol, Irrfan Khan, Dino Morea and many other big-wigs. When a panicky Katrina approached the stylist for help, Anaita just asked her to stay calm. And within five minutes she stitched the dress so finely that the tear wasn’t visible. Phew! In nick of time, Kat with a sigh of relief walked on stage to get her award.

Soha caught by kisses
Soha has finally eaten her words. In Vishesh Films production’s 'Tum Mile', Soha Ali Khan has given into director’s demand to kiss the hero, Emraan Khan. The actress unwilling went ahead to smooch Emraan as the script required the pair to do it.
The director, Kunal Deshmukh, said that the actress was initially very reluctant to do it but she later agreed. “I told Soha at the outset that the script demanded a kissing scene since both of this couple are into Live-in Relationship and they need to look romantically involved with each other, so she agreed to do kissing scene,” said the director. However, after finishing a kiss scene, the director later realised that one more scene needed a kiss.
Stating on this incident, Soha said, “I had reservations as this was the first time but after discussions with the director, we went ahead with it. It wasn't in the script, that's why it took me by surprise. But it is a very sweet, tame kiss and is shot in good taste.”

The shooting was on the roll in Goa where Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif had to get off from a jet ski onto a ladder hanging from a 200 ft overhead bridge. Sources on the spot said that Ranbir was amazed at the speed Katrina did the stunt, while he was struggling with the same. The beauty surpassed Ranbir’s expectations much to the surprise of the actor. And so the actor went on to nickname Kat for this. “Katrina was so good in the action scenes that I actually named her ‘Rambo ki sister Sambo,” said Ranbir.

The hype and promos didn’t work in favour of the recent YRF’s release. In spite of the heroine’s attempt to play a munda, didn’t go down well with the audience. ‘Dil Bole Haddipa’ sadly missed the target.

How Lara overcame hydrophobia?
Sounds quite interesting as a film puts an end to a phobia that persisted right from her childhood, isn’t? Lara Dutta had felt that her life is at big stake when she was offered with underwater adventure ‘BLUE’. But, as astonishment of disbelief, the actress has become a professional diver after completing her biggest magnum opus ‘BLUE’. Indeed, the 31-yr old actress seems to be relieved from hydrophobia.
“Thanks to Ko Samui (Thailand),” says Lara who trained her to be a professional diver. Andrew D’Souza, director of ‘Blue’ had approached him to train the actors.
Unlike her previous films, Lara Dutta will have more prominence in this flick. Of course, there are whole lots of stunt sequences performed by her.

The “Happening” song of ‘Mein or Mrs. Khanna’ is really turning out to be happening among the junta. Preity Zinta is truly looking refreshing and ravishing as ever in the song. But she has only one qualm. Preity is not in favour of people calling it as an ‘item song’. She stated that the song was an outcome of lot of hard work and dedication. Well, recently the movie launched the audio on pen drives and memory chips! Yes, the movie has touched the height of innovation for the first time with this idea.
A production of Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd., ‘Blue’ is labelled under T- Series. The audio was launched by Oscar winner and AR Rahman (music director of ‘Blue’), Akshay Kumar and Bhushan Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of T-Series. The Maestro from Madras was overwhelmed at Blue’s idea of bringing out the music in such a novel way. He exclaimed, “This is fantastic. What one must ensure is that the sound is of the highest quality. Anything new is exciting for people and those, who believe in owning legitimate music, would be excited by this product. It is also a gate opener for future expansions, because right now the music is going to have MP3 quality and then in future it could have more high quality WAV files like 96 k, 24 bit and people will definitely enjoy probably four times better than a CD quality of music. So this is a great starting point.”
Even the Akki was amused with this innovative album. According to sources, Akki said, “After the pen drive, we’ll perhaps have the music album in an injection form. All you need to do is to prick the needle and you’ll break into song.”

Asin says:‘Don’t forsake me’
After getting herself locked with constraints of promoting for her debut flick ‘Ghajini’, Asin is sure about not letting the same thing happen again. Indeed, the actress has voluntarily approached Vipul Shah and has pleaded to include her in the promotional activities for ‘London Dreams’.
Earlier, the actress had suffered a lot for ‘Ghajini’ as Aamir Khan had impinged strict restrictions on Asin stopping her from getting involved in more promotions as well in media interviews.
As a matter of fact, Vipul Shah makes an open statement that the promotional activities for ‘London Dreams’ will kick-start with Asin. Adding more, he utters, ‘Usually, the first leg of promotional works will have the lead actors. But we’re just trying out our best on lady luck this time with Asin commencing the process.’

Dil Bole Haddipa screened exclusively for Rani parivar
Although few days are left for it release, Rani Mukherji’s family was treated with a special screening of ‘Dil Bole Haddipa’.
Sources say that normally, such a screening of an YRF project would never happen. But Aditya Chopra himself organised a screening of the movie exclusively for the Mukerjis at the YRF studios.
The movie’s leading Rani was accompanied by her parents, her brother Raja and his wife. Since then the brother is really impressed with his sister’s performance and states that it is one her best ones. Every actor has those three or four films that he/she is best remembered for and this movie will be one such film for her, said Raja.

Sources say that normally, such a screening of an YRF project would never happen. But Aditya Chopra himself organised a screening of the movie exclusively for the Mukerjis at the YRF studios.
The movie’s leading Rani was accompanied by her parents, her brother Raja and his wife. Since then the brother is really impressed with his sister’s performance and states that it is one her best ones. Every actor has those three or four films that he/she is best remembered for and this movie will be one such film for her, said Raja.
